Summer in Easebourne Park

Easebourne Park was looking fabulous in the sunshine today, with the new Roundhouse Roof and  our Eco-loo.

It takes a lot of work to keep the Park looking as good as it does. Some of this work is carried out by contractors but a lot of smaller jobs are undertaken by an amazing team of volunteers – Friends of Easebourne Parish – who trim, chop, tidy, plant, water and litter pick!

Lead by Frank, it’s a small team but they do a fantastic job keeping the Park (and other areas of the village) looking it’s best for everyone else to enjoy. If you can lend a hand with some of their tasks, please do get in touch with the Parish Council or frepsec@btinternet.com

UPDATE – The return of The Goatbox!

Update 12th June – after a very quiet few days Tom will now be in the Park each Saturday during term time and will then go back to Weds/Thursdays through to Saturdays during school holidays!

We’re thrilled that Tom and The Goatbox will be coming back to Easebourne Park over the summer, serving up barista coffees, teas, cold drinks and snacks.

Tom will return on Wednesday 31st May to Saturday 3rd June during the Half Term week and then every Thursday to Saturday until the end of August! There is just one exception where Tom has other commitments.. so you might still need a flask for the 13-15th July!

We can’t wait to welcome The Goatbox back to the Park, and with the new Eco-loos now up and running you can really make a day of it!

Our Eco-Loo is complete!

Our new Eco-loos in Easebourne Park are now complete and open for use!

In off-peak times only 1 loo will be opened daily, from 7am until 7pm. We will open up the 2nd loo in school holidays and over the summer months.

These are waterless Eco-loos and as such have no flush. The left hand cubical will also shortly include a baby changing table.

We hope you agree these are a great addition to our award-winning park!

New Roundhouse Roof

It’s been a busy week in Easebourne Park, with the new Roundhouse Roof almost complete and the main structure of the Eco Loos also now in place. What a difference a week can make!

The roof will be completed on Monday 24th and whilst there is a little bit of work to do in order to fit out the inside of the Loo building we also hope that will be completed very early in May.

Watch this space for the final update!

Work has started on the eco loo and new roof!

If you’ve visited the Park in the last week you will have seen some activity as you enter from the main car park near the portaloo, with work having now started on the construction of our Eco friendly loos. In addition, work on the brand new cedar shingle roof for the Roundhouse begins today.

The loo tanks are now in and the concrete base ready for the arrival of the building, which is due tomorrow, 18th April. We’ll update this post as the work continues, but all should be completed by the end of April.

The loos will then be open daily and maintained by Wettons.

Coffee and cake in Easebourne Park!

We’re thrilled that The Goatbox, a brand new local business has agreed to come along to Easebourne Park over the Easter school holidays to provide barista coffees, teas, bake and cold drinks to our visitors.

Tom and Alice will be open from around 9.30 until 3 everyday, possibly longer over the Easter weekend and weather permitting! The forecast is looking good for most of the holidays, and with the addition of the loo in the Park, it really does become an all day destination!

Just in case you’re planning to visit from outside of the Midhurst and Easebourne area, please note that you cannot drive through Midhurst at present and many rural lanes are now operating as 1-way to ease the flow of traffic, so worth checking the route before you head off! No problem coming from Petworth or Haslemere. From Chichester you can go via Ambersham/Selham, or north towards Milland and then through Fernhurst.

Yellow Loo!

Pending the construction of our new permanent toilet, we have hired a yellow loo for the Easter school holidays – top of the park in the corner – you really can’t miss it!

Goat Box Coffee comes to Easebourne Park

Exciting news!

We’ve arranged with local Mobile Coffee bar The Goat Box to visit us in Easebourne Park over the Easter Holidays to provide barista coffees, cakes, bakes and cold drinks to visitors!

Tom will be with us from the 3rd April, most days and all over the long Easter weekend. The following week also on Monday to Wednesday and then again the weekend of the 15th and 16th.

We hope that it will be busy enough so that we can tempt Tom back again for selected dates throughout the summer!

The Goat Box will be serving from mid morning to mid afternoon – subject to change depending a little on weather and visitors of course. Don’t forget there will also be a temporary loo in the Park over the same period as we shortly begin the build of the permanent eco loos and the brand new roof for The Roundhouse.

Lots going on in Easebourne Park in the coming month!

Permanent toilets for Easebourne Park

Following on from the very successful trial of a temporary toilet placed in Easebourne Park over the summer school holidays last year, the Parish Council have now confirmed a contract with NatSol, an established and respected national eco-loo company, for the construction and installation of two permanent off-grid eco toilets.
These two toilets will be serviced daily by Wettons personnel and will be open during the hours of daylight and during the months when the Park is most used. They will be constructed of sustainable wood with a reinforced lining and with wooden shingle tile roofs. The wood for the roofs has been kindly donated by Cowdray Estate. The project to supply and build them has been entirely funded by local authority grants, applied for and won by the Parish Council, plus private donations and the National Lottery.
The installation by local company Artizans of Wood, constructors of the Park’s Roundhouse, will commence immediately after the school Easter holidays. However, to ensure that toilet facilities are available to cover the Easter break, a temporary toilet will be installed until the permanent toilets are commissioned.  This loo will also be serviced daily.
We’ll add further updates as this exciting project begins!

Thank You Friends of Easebourne Parish

Friends of Easebourne Parish have been very busy planting 11 Jubilee trees in Carbon Corner in Eastbourne Park. The trees form part of the community orchard and include varieties of apples, a quince, two pears and a cherry.

Thank you Sara Davies, Phil Stringer, Frank Davies, Ian Milne (who took the picture!) and Jon Clarke.

The group will shortly be planting daffodils and crocus in the Park all ready for Spring 2023.
