Easebourne Community Centre Proposal
Easebourne Parish Council aspire to create a 3500sqft Community Centre at the heart of the Village, by refurbishing a section of the Primary School that faces Easebourne Park. This part of the school has remained un-used for over 10 years and West Sussex County Council have no plans for it to return to use as part of the School.
The proposal would create a series of flexible spaces available to the community for a wide variety of uses, including social events, wellbeing activities, a space for local clubs and societies to meet, exhibition spaces, business & meeting rooms, a permanent home for the Council, a coffee shop and outdoor spaces. We fully expect this list to grow!
The project is a significant investment for the Parish Council, but we expect it will be entirely funded through grants and not the contribution the Parish Council receive as part of your Council Tax. Our aspiration is to have the facility up and running during Summer 2026.
We’ve now added a new page to this website where we will bring you the latest news and information about this exciting project. Over the coming months this page will be used to share updates and information so you can learn more about what the Centre could look like, the facilities we hope it will include, what it could be used for and our thoughts about timings.
We’ll also post on here important updates for when and where you will be able to view the plans and talk to Councillors, but in the meantime we would appreciate it if you could take a few moments to complete our survey to let us know your thoughts on the concept. VJ Day – Friday 15th August 2025
A service of commemoration is to be held by Midhurst and District RBL at Easebourne war memorial at 10.45am on Friday 15th August, to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan. Wreaths will be laid by Easebourne Parish Council, Midhurst Town Council and Midhurst and District RBL. The service will be conducted by Rev Canon Derek Welsman. Everyone welcome.

Fete in the Park 2025!
A very important date for your diary!
Easebourne Fete in the Park is back for 2025 and is set to be bigger than ever! On Sunday 6th July from 11am until 3pm, come along to Easebourne Park for an afternoon of free fun!
There will be Go-carts, Scooter riding, inflatables, face-painting, donkey rides, Molly Moo cow, raffles and more!
We will also have live music from the B3s (back by popular demand from last year!) plus local talented singer Josh Eade, plus the Petworth Choir! Added to that there will be a dance display and a Gun Dog display by Cowdray!
To keep you busy before the day we have the Easebourne Bake Off – enter your most quintessential English bake, a horticultural competition – enter your best or funniest veg.. and a Dog competition! Rosettes and prizes, including a cup cake decorating and chocolate making experience for the Bake Off winner and their friends!
And to keep you fed during the Fete we have a BBQ, Pimms tent, bar, fresh coffees from Pinders Patisserie and an Ice-Cream van!

Woolbeding Reimagined Drop In Session
At the Annual Village Meeting hosted by the Parish Council back in May, we heard from Becky Hiorns – Project Manager at the National Trust, working on the Woolbeding Reimagined project. ‘Let’s Talk: Housing’ — Have your say on new Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy for the Chichester District
Chichester District Council is asking for people’s views on the aims and actions proposed for its new Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, as part of a public consultation that will run until Monday 3 March.
The new strategy, which covers the period 2025 to 2030, looks at how the council will work with partners to prevent people from becoming homeless; create and retain affordable housing for young people and families; address the housing needs of older people; and improve housing standards for all of its residents.

EV Charging Points to be Installed
The Council has received notification that the proposed installation of EV charging points on Cowdray Road has been approved and works will begin at the end of the month.
