Since the vandalism to The Roundhouse in Easebourne Park 2 weeks ago, we have been continuing to assess the damage and follow up with the Police after sharing the CCTV footage captured of those responsible.
We’re sorry to say that the damage to the structure is worse than originally thought and although can be repaired, it will take longer and cost significantly more than we originally estimated. We are currently waiting on a date when the work could start. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this will cause to those who frequently use and love the Park, especially during what will shortly be school half term.
In the meantime the CCTV footage is being examined in more detail. We do know that the vandalism took place around the middle of the day on Saturday 4th October, when 6 individuals were clearly captured in the Roundhouse. If anyone has any information about who was responsible or hears of anything about this pointless act of vandalism, please contact the Parish Council.
Sadly incidents like this can only result in less funds being available for other facilities and maintenance in the village.
By now you should have received or be about to receive a survey through you door asking for your views about the proposed Community Hub.
We’d really appreciate a few minutes of your time to answer the questions and let us know what you think to the idea of creating a multi-use, flexible space in the heart of the business, for the whole community. We envisage the Hub being used for a whole host of activities such as social clubs, fitness classes, educational sessions, markets, fairs, wellbeing sessions, private hire, meetings.. the list is long!
We are also hoping that it could include a coffee shop or simple volunteer run cafe space. More details are on the door drop or on the Community Hub page in this website. You can also contact the Parish Council if you have any specific questions or to find out more.
You can drop your completed survey into the Primary School reception or the Village Shop. Alternatively you can fill out the form online by going to:

We will also be planning some in-person consultation events later this year.
We are extremely saddened to report that The Roundhouse in Easebourne Park suffered considerable damage over the weekend at the hands of vandals.
A number of spindles were kicked out, used to damage the roof and a section of the internal floor has been seriously damaged.
Having assessed the damage in full this morning we’re sorry to say that the whole structure will need to be fenced off for lengthy and costly repairs. The Roundhouse will be fenced off tomorrow, Tuesday 7th October, so please be aware of work taking place in the Park during that day.
We are awaiting timings from our contractors as to when the work can take place and how long it will take. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this will cause to those who frequently use and love the Park.
In the meantime the CCTV footage is being examined and the incident is being reported to the Police. If anyone has any information about who was responsible or hears of anything about this pointless act of vandalism, please contact the Parish Council.
