Most of the stories in Adventurers League are set in the world of the Forgotten Realms, a traditional setting of high fantasy, and you can build this character with options from the player`s guide as well as other D&D books – be it Mordenkainen`s Tome of the Enemies, Sword Coast`s Adventurer`s Guide, the Volos Monster Guide or the Xanathar Everything Guide. The campaign documentation for the setting you`re playing in contains all the details. I don`t know which books are AL-legal. I just found a book where I can create a shifter, but I`ve never heard of this book. It`s called Wayfinder`s Guide to Eberron. Is this AL legal? The books I know that are AL legal are: PHB Volo`s Guide to Monsters Sword Coast Adventurer`s Guide Tortle Package So the answer to “Which books are LEGAL AL” is, “It depends on the setting of the AL game, see the AL documentation for more details.” Another prerequisite for AL legal symbols is alignment. The only evil orientation allowed in AL is Legitimate Evil – and all Legal Evil characters MUST be members of certain factions, the Lord`s Alliance or Zhentarim. And because they have to be in these factions, the PC has to have the “Safe Haven” background feature. This can then affect the background chosen for the character. These are, from September, strict and binding rules.

With D&D Beyond Character Builder, you can create legal Characters from the League of Adventurers with the basic rules and more. PHB+1 means that a player can only use the player`s manual and another book to create their character. The PHB covers races and basic classes, but other books add new subclasses, spells, and other features to fine-tune the gameplay. Tasha has new spells and subclasses, so it makes sense as +1. The books I chose were PHB+ XGtE, but I didn`t need XGtE at all, it was a choice that was made because I had to make one. PHB classics are PHB classics for a reason. I always have fun with basic races and don`t need monsters to have fun, unlike many people who just want to do anything and once they`re done, stop or don`t find a good reason to play an elf or dwarf. So it suits me well with him! I think there should be a switch for homebrew content so that it can be considered a PHB or +1. The reason for this is that most people prefer to brew the Bugbear breed from The Volo Guide if that`s all they need and don`t pay for it. So if there was a change to say that this homebrew race would be rated as +1 for Volo`s Guide. But if it were an option, it would allow people to create official content as homebrew content to save money while remaining AL-legal.

The Adventurers League Player`s Guide covers a legal DDAL resource. From the AL Player`s Guide v11.0: Keep in mind that campaign documentation and DM quests can give access to items like Oathbreaker Paladin in the legal AL game. You can use non-optional rules that you can find in the Player`s Guide, Basic Rules, and all the books listed below. This is a great James guide – very easy to digest. I feel like DND Beyond is moving more and more towards a group moment and, for my part, I would love that. A very simple common space where each player can join, make his character visible and roll dice. I sit here in the Northwest at Mox every week and everyone is slowly inclined to use a laptop or tablet to have their DND Beyond Character available. I can imagine that we are all sitting there with a simple device and have a common area to see the dice rolls, allow the DM to show an image of the monster manual, etc. Maps, audio, and voice might come later, but this form of scanning is cool. From a revenue perspective, this would likely boost premium composition for DND Beyond – more books purchased per user, etc.

I don`t think homebrew content is AL-legal, and having to make a special case for anyone who wanted to do it probably wouldn`t steal. However, if I`m not mistaken, you can buy classes and individual races for $1.99 or $2.99, something like that. Not too expensive and you don`t need to buy the entire book to use it. Nice to see that the difficulty of creating AL characters with DnDBeyond is noticed. I run a D&D club for middle school students and subscribe so we can create online characters in my campaign that is lighter than using my physical books. But I have to spend a lot of time manually checking their spelling lists, tips, etc. for PHB+1 compliance (and to tell disappointed children that the magic list they worked on won`t work). Very frustrating that there was no filter from the beginning, but happy that it is coming soon. This and the display and management of the characters in the app are big omissions that really should have been here all the time. It`s not true.

It is LEGAL FOR EberRON GAMES, but not AL legal for Forgotten Realms games. This guide should hopefully make it easier to get started with your first Adventurers League game. You can keep a physical record on the log sheet provided in the AL Player & DM pack or use a website like Adventurer`s League Log to do so. Are there others for players that might be relevant to creating a character? The D&D Adventurers League creates a list of rules for the types of characters players can create, how they can progress, and how DMs should run official games. The idea is to keep all players on an equal footing by sticking to limited creative resources and making sure new players aren`t overwhelmed by a plethora of options. For these reasons, there is the PHB +1 rule. RELATED: Tasha`s Cauldron of Everything had almost tips for hosting a Fey tea party Your 1st level character will be created with all the race and class options in the player`s guide as well as another resource among those listed below (the “PHB+1” rule). Excellent easy to read guide on AL! It should be noted that in Season 8, there is an exception for the Oathbreaker Paladin subclass for dungeon masters if they successfully complete certain dungeon master quests from the League of Adventurers. Rising Shadows-Moonshae Isles Regional Guide The Border Kingdoms: A Forgotten Realms Campaign Supplement Could we somehow get a chart that shows what each +1 book allows you to do? For example, the first line would be the names of the books, the second would be the races provided by this book, the third line class/subclass options of this book, and then the tricks, spells, etc. This would be a good start for more visual learners (like me) to help them choose their +1. When the adventure ends, it`s time to reap your rewards. Your dungeon master will tell you what information to write on your journal sheet as a record of your participation in the game. Let your dungeon master know if you need help at any time during the game or if there`s anything you don`t know.
