Sussex Safer Roads Partnership

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership mobile camera van still visits Easebourne as regularly as is possible, and from the number of offences they record is extremely successful in raising awareness of our 30mph limit. We’d really like to do more though to maintain that awareness when the van can’t be with us. That’s where Community Speedwatch comes in.

We really need residents who are concerned about speeding in our village to come forward and offer to help tackle this issue. There is a speedgun located in Midhurst Police Station which we can borrow as often as we like, but we need people to operate it! Operating the Speedwatch Gun is really easy and it really does work, with offenders being reported to the Police who then take the appropriate action. The scheme is managed by Chichester Police who have offered to come to the village and talk to residents in more detail about what’s involved and explain how they can help.

If you’d be interested in attending such a session, please get in touch and we will arrange a suitable venue and date. If you would like to improve traffic safety in Easebourne then please consider joining our Community Speedwatch group.
