Some of you may have noticed that the installation of our first 7 planters is now complete. These were funded by a Chichester District Council grant which the Parish Council applied for and successfully received at the end of last year. The ongoing pandemic has delayed the project but we hope you think they are worth the wait – we certainly do!
They are part of a larger project to help create a more rural feel as you enter and drive through the village, which in turn is a proven way of reducing vehicle speeds. The next element of the project, also grant funded, involves improving directional signs to make them more in keeping with our surroundings and also to introduce traditional finger-pointers. We expect this element to be implemented during 2022.
Made from corten steel, the planters were chosen in order to create consistency with the identity created by the South Downs National Park.
