Mindless vandalism to trees

We’re very sad to report that some further mindless vandalism has taken place in Easebourne Park within the last 24 hours, deliberately killing 3 of the trees planted last year.

The trees in question were in the south eastern corner close to the pond. The stakes were removed and thrown into the pond and each tree then snapped in half. Unfortunately the result of this is that there will be no trees in this corner of the Park as they will not be replaced. The vandals struck sometime between 11am on Monday 21st January and 2pm on Tuesday 22nd January.

The incident has been reported to the Police.

If anyone saw anything or knows who was responsible, please contact the Police or email the Parish Council confidentially on parishclerk@easebourne.org.

After all the work that goes into making Easebourne Park what it is, this is so disappointing and so pointless. The Parish Council are in the final stages of agreeing some very exciting enhancements to the Park, scheduled for Spring/Summer 2020 and sadly some of these things may now need to be reconsidered.
