Saturday 7th December saw the first joint session with some village volunteers and the Midhurst Green Volunteers coming to help us carry out some serious pruning of High Path.
High Path is prone to getting overgrown in the summer months as CDC reduce the number of times they cut during the year, so as a village we need to step in and carry out additional clearance. Yesterday saw the start of a 2 day project to seriously cut back bushes, trees and shrubs along the length of the path from the Doctors surgery to Dodsley Grove.
In all, 5 Midhurst volunteers and 5 Easebourne volunteers spent 2 hours and took away an estimated 1.88 tonnes of green waste! This is the highest volume of waste shifted in any one of the Green Volunteers sessions to date!
The remainder of the path will undergo the same treatment on Saturday 25th January, meeting at the junction to the Doctors surgery at 8.30am.
Moving forward, The Green Volunteers are happy to help with other Easebourne projects, but as well as us volunteering to help with our own projects, we need volunteers to help with Midhurst projects too – it’s only fair!
The team carries out projects every Tuesday from 9.30 to 11am and every Saturday from 8.30 until 10am. There’s a list of scheduled events on their website. Further sessions in Easebourne will be announced shortly so watch this space and PLEASE help us by joining both volunteer groups to make Easebourne and Midhurst a cleaner and tidier place!
