Community Speedwatch – we need your help!

It’s been a while since we have been able to schedule any Community Speedwatch sessions, partly due to the availability of a Speedgun and partly due to a lack of volunteers. Although the electronic Vehicle Activated Signs and new Speed Camera signage continue to improve drivers awareness of the 30mph zone, we would like to re-launch the Community Speedwatch programme to reduce speed through the village even more.

We now have easy access to a Speedgun and longer, warmer days, so all we now need are VOLUNTEERS! Sessions are no more than an hour, always involve 2 volunteers and are surprisingly rewarding. Motorists logged speeding are automatically issued with warning letters from the Police and contrary to what you might expect, people are more likely to stop and thank you than do anything else!

So if you can spare a couple of hours a month and would like to make a real difference to road safety in the village, please get in touch with our Parish Clerk for more information on 07342 166188 or email parishclerk@easebourne.org. Thank you.
